Put Your Trust In My Experience
Mr. Halversen’s practice is entirely focused and concentrated on representing commercial and residential policyholders in claims against their insurance company. Mr. Halversen began his legal career over twenty years ago in Florida defending the insurance companies and banks. Mr. Halversen now uses that knowledge to hold insurance companies accountable for cutting corners. Insurance companies are great about taking your premiums – but not so good if you happen to have a claim.
In addition to his experience defending insurance companies, Mr. Halversen has had a wide-ranging legal career almost entirely comprised of commercial and tort litigation, representing companies and individuals, in the following areas:
- General insurance defense (first party and third party, automobile and CGL), insurance coverage and appeals
- Construction litigation (plaintiff and defense)
- Real estate litigation (title insurance defense of errors and omissions policies, landlord-tenant litigation (landlord), representing developers in project specific contractual disputes, condemnation (government), mortgage litigation (representing lending institutions), HOA, partition, boundary disputes, foreclosure (plaintiff and defense)
- Administrative and regulatory law (appearances before SC DHEC and SC LLR)
- Municipal law (corporate counsel, and providing advice for real estate transactions, ordinances, environmental, corporate and contract matters, FOIA, zoning, inter-governmental agreements for utilities and municipal litigation)
- Business litigation (partnership disputes and derivative actions, supplemental proceedings, contractual disputes, collections, mechanic liens, equitable lien and priority actions),
- Personal injury litigation (plaintiff and defense), medical malpractice (plaintiff and defense)
- Legal malpractice (plaintiff)
- Trust and estates and probate litigation
- Health care operations and litigation (medical staff privileges, fraud and abuse, medical records, EMTALA).
